Tutug Rengginang

Feeling bored of TO (Tutug Oncom) rice? You can taste another kind of original Tasikmalaya food. It's Tutug Rengginang (TR). Nothing different from TO, TR is also a kind of mixed rice. Here's the picture:

So, where you can find the TR rice and friends? It's right on Kampung Tasik Restaurant on Yudanegara st Tasikmalaya City (beside Santika Hotel).

By the way, when I visited Kampung Tasik, I had an inspiring conversation with the Owner, Mrs. Ilma. She talked about her experience in building her culinary business a week ago. About more than 10 years, she was an employee and worked for a company engaged in financing activities. The company paid her a very big salary as she occupied one of the top positions. It's more than enough for the cost of living in Tasik. As time goes by, she thought that her life was not balance. Deadline and target haunted her everyday. Today's task had not finished, another tasks came. She sometimes skipped prayer because of her business. That's what happened everyday, every week, every month, every year....

A month ago, she decided to stop that crazy working hours and start her culinary business. No more big salary and a car as company inventory. She's now fully independent. Get up in the morning, then she's heading to market driving motorcar by herself. No make up, no white collar outfit, no diplomatic talks. But she's very very enjoy her job today.

"Mau sampai kapan kita mencari materi terus? Sementara karena terlalu sibuk mencari itu, sholat seringkali terbengkalai. Ditambah beban moral, deadline, dan target yang setiap bulan meningkat bikin nggak nahan. Saya lebih senang dan tenang bekerja seperti ini. Meski pendapatan belum stabil, tapi saya yakin rezeki dari Allah tersebar di muka bumi. Hidup itu pilihan. Pilihan saya ini membuat hidup saya sekarang seimbang. (How long will we keep looking for money? While I'm too busy looking for it, I often skipped prayers. Moreover, moral burden, target, and deadline which keep increasing made me can't stand for it anymore. I'm happier and enjoy more doing culinary business. I haven't got a stable income indeed, but I do believe that all the fortunes are spread all over the world. Life is a choice. Mine makes my life is more balance.)" Mrs Ilma told me.
